Artemis Temple, Ephesus, Virgin Mary House, Sirince Village.
Your Ephesus Full Day trip gives you an extensive view of the attractions of the ancient site. From your location in Cesme, it will take us around two hours for a new model A/C vehicle to reach Ephesus. On the way your licensed, fluently English-speaking guide gives you background information and interesting facts about your trip.

First we’ll stop in Selcuk, the town next to Ephesus. Here you will have a view on the ruins of Artemis temple, one of the seven ancient world wonders. In Ephesus you’ll be guided through the main sites from Odeon over the famous temples of Hadrian and Domitian to the Library of Celsus and the big theater. A little bit further you can find the Church of Mary where the great ecumenical council was held in 431. Detailed explanations by your tour guide give you a lively description about a world 2.000 years ago.

From the archeological excavation, your trip will continue to the House of the Virgin Mary where according to a vision of the nun Anne Catherine Emmerich the mother of Jesus spent her last years. Christians as well as Muslims are collecting spring water which is said to have healing power.

After some kilometres up to the mountains, you’ll reach the romantic village of Sirince. Here first we’ll have a lunch break in an authentic restaurant with typical cuisine of the region. Ongoing we’ll explore the narrow streets of the village and won’t miss to check some of the home made fruit wines the villagers are producing. In the upper region of Sirince you’ll find the St John Baptist church which is currently restored. Furthermore village bread, olive oil, herbals, crafts and olive soap are specialties of Sirince. 

The complete trip takes around 10 to 11 hours. A hat and sturdy shoes are recommended. Don’t worry, it won’t be a forced march but the routes through Ephesus and Sirince are stony and maybe you will like to climb to the upper levels of the big theater in Ephesus.
